Warm mix asphalt (WMA) is gaining acceptance across the United States, and new WMA technologies are being routinely introduced. These new WMA technologies often need to be successfully produced and placed before an agency allows the use of the technology on state and federal highways.

The Warm Mix Asphalt Certification Program allows manufacturers of new WMA technologies to have an unbiased evaluation of the new product. The program includes documentation of mix design, production, construction, materials evaluation, and field performance that can be used by agencies to determine if a WMA technology is acceptable for their region.
